SOFTWARE RESEARCH TOOL...

...FOR TODAY'S PROSPECTOR.

Within M-N-M© you are able to view Topographical and Aerial Photos of the surrounding area, and even generate a Topo-Aerial Overlay map! After creating these maps you can print or save them to your computer for future use.

Within each database a Report View of the mining activity conducted and the commodity found is also provided. The report shows all recorded information available about the site.

The program features Search and Filter functions that allows the user to delete unwanted database information and, provides the ability to search by Keyword, Latitude and Longitude, Commodity and County of origin.

This program will work with or without your GPS mapping software running in the background on your computer.

It should be noted that depending on the user selected database, the State you wish to search may not be available within it. This is where the second database comes into play. The combined resources of both databases include all 50 states in the USA and the District of Columbia.

Always exercise caution when exploring these sites, old abandoned mines are in a constant state of decay and dangerous. Don't remove protective barriers erected for public safety and, regardless of the land status of the area your exploring, don't vandalize structures or equipment left behind. Respect private property. Some of these sites may be 'Patented' claims or historically protected. The claim name for the same mine may have changed. Research links are available within the program.

Mining history in the USA is our heritage. Keep the site visited cleaner when you leave. Help to preserve this history for future generations.

HystWare welcomes comments and questions about the program. We support our product and will provide the best of customer service.

M-N-M©  was developed primarily for those interested in old mining history and the current day small prospector as an aid in research of old mines, the minerals they produced and the mining camps and small communities they supported. After struggling through the freely disseminated database information available via the Internet our goal became very clear. Create a program that incorporates these databases and can be easily transferred to your GPS mapping software.

This program is a compilation of information derived from the USGS Mineral Resource Data System (MRDS) and the Mineral Availability System (MAS) inclusive only to the USA. These databases have been converted for ease of use. The program provides information such as, the mine name, the commodity it produced i.e. gold, a description of its status i.e. raw prospect, past producer, placer and, the USGS Topo Map for its location as well, and much more.

The program is GPS friendly. When used in conjunction with your mapping software this application helps locate older mines and small prospects and can be used with all GPS mapping software on the market today.

With an internet connection you have the ability to  quickly download small map images of the site using TerraServer-USA™ Web Services.
